Captain's Wood Barn

Captain's Wood Barn in Maldon, Essex, is a special location for me—it's where my wife and I held our own wedding.

After working as a wedding photographer across many wedding venues, I was looking for a fresh, unique setting for our day. When we visited this new dry hire wedding venue hidden in the Essex woodland and spoke with the family who own and live there, we knew immediately this was the perfect place. (My video team filmed the day; you can find the trailer I edited at the bottom of this page.)

This personal experience means I am uniquely positioned to create the most special photos and video of your big day! I understand the site's flow, the best light in the barn, and the ideal spots for those memorable sunset portraits.

The venue's character is unparalleled, offering a truly unique setting with ceremonies in the woods, fun tractor rides, and cozy campfires. It is undoubtedly one of the most personal and intimate wedding venues available!

Years later, it was an honour to capture Jasmine and Jack's wedding here. Our paths crossed originally when Jasmine was our son's NICU nurse. Showing her our own wedding pictures taken at Captain's Wood inspired them to book the venue for their day.
